Monika Wittig is an interdisciplinary design leader with a unique ability to bridge the gap between academia and industry for innovation’s sake. With a background traversing design, 3D printing, human-centered design, architecture, digital fabrication, product development, biomedical engineering and graphics, Monika specializes in early-stage innovation, leveraging her technical production expertise and artistic vision to creatively co-develop possibilities in response to real-world challenges.

As an advocate for healthful human design practices, Monika combines aesthetic sensibilities with a commitment to wellbeing, crafting frameworks and environments that transcend basic needs. Her work reflects a deep understanding of the intricate relationship between design, health, and human experience, ensuring that each project resonates on a personal and community level.

Monika’s collaborative approach is at the core of her practice. She curates diverse teams of professionals, stakeholders and students, fostering an environment of creativity and diverse perspectives. Her leadership in building a design innovation iniatiavtice on an academic medical campus from the ground up, launching an academic—industry pilot immersion program, directing workshops and courses emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and hands-on learning.
